Goran Barron
- Physiotherapist
- Orthopedic Manipulative Therapist
- Qigong Practitioner/Trainer
- Muscle Imbalance Practitioner
- Acupuncturist
I started my studies in medicine by becoming a Registered Nurse in 1981. In 1986 I completed my physiotherapy degree after studying in Zagreb, Croatia for 4 years. During this time I was fortunate to be introduced to Prof. Vladimir Janda’s Muscle Imbalance principles of treating the musculo-skeletal system. A Professor of Neurophysiology, Vladimir Janda from the Czech Republic, was a pioneer of Muscular Imbalance principles, which later developed into the core strengthening principles and principles of neuro-muscular kinetics.
I migrated to Australia where I have continued my studies in the field of physiotherapy. In 1998, after 5 years of studying, I graduated with a Masters of Health Science Orthopedic Manipulative Therapy. Orthopedic Manipulative Therapy was developed by Prof. Olaf Evjenth and Prof. Freddy Kaltenborn from Germany and uses the principles of functional biomechanics and applied anatomy in the treatment of the musculo-skeletal system.
I have been training in martial art techniques and principles since the age of 16. Over the last 15 years I have been training in Lohan Qigong and Acupuncture with Grand Master Jong Fa Chen in Sydney.
During a consultation:
- my understanding of muscular imbalance / neuromuscular kinetics helps me understand why our muscles and nerves behave in a certain way – why they are tight, weak or just not working.
- Knowledge of Orthopedic Manipulative Therapy / functional biomechanics helps me diagnose what is happening with your joints and spinal discs. Which joints require manipulation and which joints require stabilization or support?
- My personal experience, knowledge and understanding of Qigong helps me understand your Qi flow and/or Qi blockages.
Over the last 17 years I have been using a combination of all 3 above-mentioned principles in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the musculo-skeletal system and of course, all 3 principles compliment and overlap each other.
I am very fortunate that I had the opportunity to learn and continue to learn with such great teachers. After all, I always wanted to be a physiotherapist and musculo-skeletal practitioner
Depending on what is affecting your musculo-skeletal system I will do one or more of the following treatments:
- biomechanical and kinesiological analysis of the musculo-skeletal system identifying the dysfunctional pattern that is causing the pain or problem
- spinal adjustments
- sports injury treatment, physiotherapy
- physical exercises
- sports massage, myofacial release or deep tissue massage
- relaxing massage
- qigong breathing exercises
- qigong therapeutic exercises
- acupuncture for the musculo-skeletal system
- qigong and acupressure massage
